Taking a screenshot on the new OnePlus 6T smart phone: With the new OnePlus 6T, comes introduced a with a notched display and an all-glass backing. Software-wise, though, much didn’t change, including how to take different types of screenshots. Here’s how it all works.
Screenshot with the hardware buttons
As with any situation in which you want to take a screenshot, the first step is locating content that you’d like to capture. Next, find the device’s power button and volume rocker. The power button will be on the right side of the handset while the volume rocker is on the left.
Now, press and hold down on the Power button and Volume down button at the same time until you see the screenshot animation. Following this, a toolbar will appear at the bottom of the display that lets you edit or share the image. Hurry though because the toolbar disappears after several moments.
Speaking of that toolbar, there is an option on it that allows you to take a scrolling screenshot. This is especially handy if you want to capture a website or some other content that takes up more length than what is just shown on-screen.
After you select the scrolling option, the OnePlus 6T will begin moving further down the screen and capturing additional screenshots. You can either manually stop the process by tapping on the display, or the phone will automatically stop once it reaches the bottom of the page or it reaches a maximum image file size.
In addition to OnePlus 6T’ new gesture navigation controls, the company offers a whole menu of different gestures that launch different actions. One of these, with the use of three fingers, quickly captures a screenshot.
First, you’re going to need to head into the Settings menu by swiping down on the notification shade and tapping on the gear icon. From there, jump into the Gestures option. Part way down the list, under the System gestures subheading, toggle on Three-finger screenshot.
Now to use this feature, after locating content that you would like to capture, place three fingers on the OnePlus 6T display and quickly swipe downward. If everything worked properly, you should see the screenshot animation just as if you pressed and held the power + volume down buttons.
Lastly, you can use the Google Assistant to take a screenshot. After locating whichever content you would like captured, you can either long-press on the Home button or say “Ok/Hey Google” to launch the Assistant. From there, you can either say “Take a screenshot” or type the command in using your keyboard.
